NoVa Outside is a coalition of environmentalists and concerned nature lovers that promotes outdoor nature education for children in the school and community setting. They have received two grants to enance the capacities of environmental educators and afterschool educators to work with kids outside in nature. Trees will be a major part of the activities having students adopt a tree on the school grounds and using trees to learn about interactions in nature. TreeSteward members can assist with their knowledge on tree anatomy, physiology and care. Volunteer opportunities include helping to develop curriculum and activities, as well as direct assistance with children.
