Join Arlington urban forestry director Vincent Verweij on a tour of champion trees. Bring water and a patch kit for your bike.

Arlington Home Show and Garden Expo

Volunteers identify and count species, including trees, in nature. From 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 27, join Tree Steward Jo Allen in tabulating species in East Falls Church Park, 1730 N. Roosevelt St., Arlington. From 10 a.m.-1 p.m., help do the same in Madison Manor Park, 6225 12th Rd. N., Arlington.

This is a tentative date for a Tree Stewards planting on a previously weedy patch of National Park Service land near Key Bridge in Rosslyn. Details to come.

The region’s largest local ecotype native plant nursery hosts the first of three annual open houses and plant sales at the nursery.

Forest Bathing at Dora Kelly Nature Center

9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. @ Ford Nature Center, 5750 Sanger Ave., Alexandria
