: This was the state champion Dawn redwood on North Ohio Street in Arlington. Despite protests, petitions, and public comments, Arlington County did not find a way to save the tree on a large lot where a builder plans to construct two large homes.

: The Dawn redwood with its lower limbs removed.

: Then it was gone, a champion no longer.
