Training accomplished, final exams passed, TreeStewards Class of 2011 celebrated their graduation with former graduates and current volunteers. Chris Zimmerman, Arlington County Board, talked about the value of volunteerism and the important work done by TreeStewards. TreeStewards President, Nora Palmatier, congratulated the graduates and asked each to talk about planned volunteer work. Virginia Cooperative Extension Agent Kirsten Buhls reminded the graduates that their role is now to spread tree care information throughout their communities. Entertainment was provided by a current TreeSteward who shared a song she uses to teach children about trees. Another crop of inspiring and dedicated volunteers joins the cause!
